Prof. Dr. Ilaria Hoppe was appointed to the Catholic Private University in Linz, while she occupied professorships for Early Modern and Modern Art History at Humboldt University’s Institute for Art and Visual Studies in Berlin. Previously, she worked there as a research assistant, additionally offering courses in the Gender Studies programme. She completed her studies of Art History, Italian Philology and Philosophy in Düsseldorf and at Berlin’s Technical University, where she earned her doctorate with the dissertation Die Räume der Regentin: Die Villa Poggio Imperiale zu Florenz. Her research interests connect political theory with art and image studies as applied to dispositives of power.
