Christoph Bangert is an internationally recognized photojournalist who has specialised in reports of political events and areas of war and conflict. Among other places, he has reported from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Darfur, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. His photos have appeared in publications such as the New York Times, Stern and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. He is the author of several books including Iraq: The Space Between (powerhouse 2007), Africa Overland (National Geographic 2013), War Porn (Kehrer 2014) and hello camel (Kehrer 2016). Bangert lives in Cologne with his family.
