Philipp Müller is a trained bookseller. He took German Studies and Art History in Heidelberg and Hamburg. Among other jobs, he has worked for the research unit on nature pictures at the Universität Hamburg as assistant to Prof. Dr. Frank Fehrenbach. At the beginning of 2017, he completed his master’s program with a thesis about the self-presentation strategies of the so-called Islamic State. He is now preparing a dissertation on the topic of reality transformation and products in images of violence currently appearing in the press.
