Thomas Helbig studied Fine Arts, Art History and Philosophy in Dresden and Berlin. As holder of a scholarship from the Gerda Henkel Foundation, he conducts research devoted to his doctoral project on Jean-Luc Godard’s video essay Histoire(s) du cinéma. He is currently an associated member of ‘The Technical Image’ department at the Hermann von Helmholtz Centre for Cultural Techniques of Humboldt University in Berlin. Before that, he was an associate at the research unit of the Aby Warburg Edition, where he worked on preparing a two-volume edition of letters at the Institute of Art and Visual Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin.
